TRILATERAL: Budapest/Sofia/Philadelphia Dance Artist Exchange
The program began in November 2023 during the dunaPart platform in Budapest, where participating artists met each other and key members of the local contemporary dance scene for the first time. This initial 10-day phase focused primarily on building connections and offered opportunities to engage with the local community.
The second residency took place in May 2024 in Sofia, centered around teaching and facilitation as a shared area of artistic interest. The artists developed a co-teaching workshop structure, which they tested in collaboration with the local community. Their stay coincided with the Antistatic International Festival and the Bulgarian Dance Platform, offering valuable insight into the local contemporary performing arts scene and enabling the establishment of new professional connections.The final phase of the program took place in September 2024 in Philadelphia. Participants attended events at the Cannonball Festival and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and shared the experiences and outcomes of the year-long residency series with the local audience in a performative format.
