Next Stage+ project announces a group residency at Butiken in Hörken (Sweden) open for producers working on a freelance basis within the performing arts. We invite applicants to propose individual questions and needs related to their practice. The residency will gather a group of producers to exchange experiences and co-think about the role of the producer, based on the selected participants’ proposals.
During the residency, the selected participants will get time for individual work to develop their own producer’s practice, as well as conversations and workshops with the group. The schedule of the shared time will reflect the needs outlined in the applications.
The residency will host participants from several European countries, and this open call is for applicants active in Hungary, Greece, Germany or Ukraine.
Overall 3 participants will be selected in the frame of this call.
Dates:
Residency at Butiken in Hörken: 14-16th September 2026
(travel day to Stockholm and then to Hörken Sunday 13th September; departure from Stockholm Thursday 17th September)
Included in the residency:
600 EUR residency fee
Per diem (30 EUR/day), travel and accommodation (including international travel to and from Stockholm and inland travel to and from the residency place; including additional night in Stockholm on 16th September if needed)

About Butiken
Butiken is a former store converted into an office and studio in Hörken, Ljusnarsberg. The store has a spacious office with four desks for administrative work and writing. The studio consists of a room of 6×6 meters with wooden floors, access to a dance mat and basic sound/lights. Hörken is accessible through public transport by taking the train to Kopparberg or Grängesberg, followed by a short bus ride. The residency space has limited accessibility, with staircases to get into the house by all entrances.
