My beginner contemporary dance class is for beginners and anyone who would like to discover contemporary dance, with or without previous experience.
The class consists of two complementary parts: simple and progressive exercises and movement sequences, followed by learning a new choreographic phrase in each class. The aim of the class is to develop body awareness, coordination, musicality and movement fluidity, while giving everyone the opportunity to discover their own rhythm and movement quality.
I teach the class in a supportive, pressure-free environment where everyone can explore movement at their own pace. No previous dance experience is required.
This is an open class, come whenever you can!

Julien is a French choreographer, performer and teacher who has been living and working in Budapest since 2018. He trained at the National Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Lyon, France, alongside training with Raza Hammadi, director of Ballet Jazz Art, and artists from Nederlands Dans Theater. In 2018, he joined Budapest Dance Theatre before continuing to work independently in Hungary and internationally. Since then, he has developed his own choreographic works and artistic projects across stage productions, site-specific performances and moving image, while also working as a movement director for fashion and music productions. As a teacher, he teaches contemporary dance and movement through classes, workshops and training programmes, and gives talks and professional discussions on his artistic practice, including at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK.
